Prepositions

คำบุพบท (Preposition) คือ คำที่ใช้เชื่อมความสัมพันธ์ทางความหมายของคำกับอีกคำหนึ่งในประโยค ซึ่งอาจเป็นคำเพียงคำเดียวหรืออาจ เป็นกลุ่มคำที่รวมกันเป็นอีกหนึ่งหน่วยก็ได้
Prepositions หนึ่งตัวอาจมีได้หลายความหมาย ขึ้นอยู่กับว่ามันประกอบอยู่กับบริบทใด แบ่งได้ 4 ประเภท ดังนี้

1. Preposition of time: for, in, to, after, before, at the time of, at, on, from, until, during, at the end of, by, till, since, about, between, in the early ofex. He will graduate in one year.He was born on the seventeenth of February.

2. Preposition of place: at, in, over, near, beyond, against, behind, on, off, down, along, across, below, next to, to , by, from, above, among, before, in front of, into, onto, under, beside, beneath, toward, at the back ofex. The boy is going to school.Her daughter is in the house.

3. Preposition of purpose: to, for, in order to, so as toex. A pencil is used for writing.She tried hard to win this game.

4. Preposition of manner: in, on, as, by, with, likeex. He is in a hurry.He listened to that news with happiness.
